Jen Rolston

Hello

I’m so glad you’re here!

I truly believe that yoga, meditation, and connecting with nature is the simplest path to a joyful life — not always the easiest, but definitely the simplest.

I’ve been a seeker for as long as I can remember. Around age 12, I read Siddhartha* and began my own inward journey exploring philosophy, religion, meditation, and nutrition, and movement. I was first drawn to yoga in 2005 as an alternative to modern dance after becoming pregnant with my son. I attended the first yoga studio in Shepherdstown, WV, and felt an immediate connection to the yogic philosophy, meditation, and asanas taught by Shanti Saagar founders Judy Jenner & JiJi Beckett. I have maintained a self-practice ever since, and began practicing with Christa Mastrangelo Joyce in 2010. In 2018, I completed Jala Yoga’s 200-hour Teacher Training Program and then began my own path as an instructor.

A native West Virginian, I currently live in WV’s eastern panhandle with my timber-framer husband Patrick and the ‘King of Zen’ – our dog Henry. I am also the founder of Eden Design, a design & marketing firm. I love music, long hikes and trail runs, end of day IPAs, and visits from our son, Sam. I am extremely grateful to all of the strong women & yogis in my life and humbled to share this yogic lineage with others.

“There is a crack, a crack in everything.
That’s how the light gets in.”

—Leonard Cohen

*In full disclosure, I found out about Siddhartha from a magazine article about my pre-teen crush River Phoenix who counted it as a major influence in his life. Sometimes, we find our guides in the most unusual places!
