Building on the deep stretching that we did on Tuesday, we start with some of the same yin poses and then move into a taking and sending meditation, and close the practice with an active warrior flow. All the things to start your day!
Today I share a quote from Sovereign Self by Acharya Shunya “I urge you to explore new pathways where none existed yesterday.” Plus, we do some yoga — testing our balance through tree pose and a warrior flow.
Building on Tuesday’s practice, today we play with balance through a warrior 3 flow. But first, we start slow with a grounding chest opener and neck relaxer. Finally we’ll rest — embracing what can be called a “spiritual, silent serenade.”
Today’s class encourages us to take small steps to transformation — we continue to build arm strength, consider the art of silence and listening, and challenge ourselves with an active flow.
It’s a low energy Thursday but we get moving with some gentle arm, neck, and back stretches and then ease into our arm strenghthening flow. We round out class with a guided meditation that takes us to the beach and invites us to embrace our curious child-like selves.
Happy New Year! Today’s class starts out slow and easy with multiple poses to alleviate neck and shoulder tension. We then move into a sun salutation flow to welcome in a new year and stretch the psoas. Cheers!
Today’s flow is inspired by the 108 sun salutations traditionally practiced on solstice. We honor another rotation around the sun with 10 sun sals along with several poses to release tension in the neck, shoulders, and traps. Happy Holidays for all the holidays you might celebrate.
Feeling a little stressed today? Or a lot? This class will relax your hips and hopefully your mind to “let go and let be.” We do some grounding breathwork and end in a triangle flow to help us create more flexibility – on and off the mat. ♥
Inspired by a talk by Ram Dass about karma yoga (yoga of action) we will try to move through a familiar practice of sun salutations with a deeper sense of presence and fresh eyes. In meditation, we’ll remind ourselves that we need not compartmentalize our practice from our everyday life. Every action and interaction is an opportunity to tune in deeply to our lived experience. With each task, may we do so with great intention and compassion.
For the month of August, we’ll be building a summer “first aid kit” — each class will have tips, poses, and techniques that you can pull out whenever you find yourself in need. Today’s class will help relieve neck and upper back tension — it’s a slow-moving all-levels class that will allow you to release in the neck, warm up the upper back muscles, and hopefully ease into your day!
