In celebration of today’s new moon, we move through a vigorous warrior and goddess vinyasa flow with plenty of side bends, arm poses, and core work. My hope is that your entire body will feel stretched and strengthened and ready to find JOY in your day!

In today’s class we consider what it means to remain open in order to observe the unfolding of the unknown — and perhaps to even delight in the experience! We use boat and plank poses to strengthen our core and arms and counter poses to stretch it all out.

Morning Dharma - April 13 2023

Today we continue Tuesday’s focus on ‘Full Participation’ applying it to a more restorative practice. This class is perfect for anytime that you feel you need more of a pause to allow the body and mind to reset. We incorporate supportive poses that open the back, release the shoulders and neck, and calm the nervous system. We still add in a little bit of core and arm work and finish with our triangle flow.

Today is our first class after the time change so we start slow with some grounding floor exercises focused on the back, legs, hips, and glutes. Through concentrated breathwork we start to activate and energize to move into our Sun Sal A&B flow and ultimately into standing balancing postures. All with gratitude that the sun has once again risen. 🙂

Today’s class starts with a kundalini-inspired warm-up and moves into an active Sun Sal A & B flow — the perfect preparation to quiet the mind in meditation. Plenty of variations are given making this practice accessible to just about everyone. 

Today we start a new theme considering renewal and what that means as the seasons start to change from winter to spring and we go through our own seasons in our bodies. This month we are going to integrate a Sun Sal A&B flow into each practice as a way to build muscle memory allowing our bodies to reach a flow state giving our minds space to open.

For a gentle rainy morning we start with a seated grounding sequence and move into a warrior flow — connecting with the earth and then exploring the space around us as we take flight in warrior 3.

We tend to hold a lifetime in our hips. Today we use the breath and longer holds to release the tension that may have been building for years. We try to soften, release, and let go — both in the hips and in our minds. We consider what it means to love it all and how we can create space for an intentional life.

Building on the deep stretching that we did on Tuesday, we start with some of the same yin poses and then move into a taking and sending meditation, and close the practice with an active warrior flow. All the things to start your day!
