Today is our first class after the time change so we start slow with some grounding floor exercises focused on the back, legs, hips, and glutes. Through concentrated breathwork we start to activate and energize to move into our Sun Sal A&B flow and ultimately into standing balancing postures. All with gratitude that the sun has once again risen. 🙂

Today’s class starts with a kundalini-inspired warm-up and moves into an active Sun Sal A & B flow — the perfect preparation to quiet the mind in meditation. Plenty of variations are given making this practice accessible to just about everyone.
Today we start a new theme considering renewal and what that means as the seasons start to change from winter to spring and we go through our own seasons in our bodies. This month we are going to integrate a Sun Sal A&B flow into each practice as a way to build muscle memory allowing our bodies to reach a flow state giving our minds space to open.
ONE DROP Today’s class focuses on side bends — slowly moving through the frontal plane to prepare for our standing flow that builds into triangle and half moon. We end our month considering what it means when one drop of action makes a ripple that expands out from the mat and into the world.
“You are everywhere, forever free…the single witness of all things.” Today’s class is psoas focused — a long floor sequence to lengthen and strengthen core muscles. We end with a warrior 3 flow and a meditation on witnessing through listening.
Today I share a quote from Sovereign Self by Acharya Shunya “I urge you to explore new pathways where none existed yesterday.” Plus, we do some yoga — testing our balance through tree pose and a warrior flow.
Building on Tuesday’s practice, today we play with balance through a warrior 3 flow. But first, we start slow with a grounding chest opener and neck relaxer. Finally we’ll rest — embracing what can be called a “spiritual, silent serenade.”
Today’s class encourages us to take small steps to transformation — we continue to build arm strength, consider the art of silence and listening, and challenge ourselves with an active flow.
Happy New Year! Today’s class starts out slow and easy with multiple poses to alleviate neck and shoulder tension. We then move into a sun salutation flow to welcome in a new year and stretch the psoas. Cheers!
