This class is a continuation of the Nov 1 class and continues with twists but ends with a standing balancing sequence. You don’t have to take the other class first, but I do recommend it. 🙂
November is always a good month to remind ourselves how to cultivate gratitude – for both the joys and the challenges. This class starts with a leg and hip focused floor sequence and ends with a twist based vinyasa flow followed by a meditation.
The poses and sequences in today’s class are very grounding – perfect before embarking on any new adventure or venture! We start on our backs and move into an active vinyasa warrior flow building on what we practiced on Tuesday. My wish for you is that you’ll leave your mat feeling strong and grounded with joy and openness to start your day!
This is a short month for Morning Dharma (no classes between Oct 11 – 20) so there’s no formal theme. Instead we’ll trust that whatever dharma we need to consider will arise. This class is an active vinyasa warrior flow utilizing both sides of our mats…and brains!
Inspired by a talk by Ram Dass about karma yoga (yoga of action) we will try to move through a familiar practice of sun salutations with a deeper sense of presence and fresh eyes. In meditation, we’ll remind ourselves that we need not compartmentalize our practice from our everyday life. Every action and interaction is an opportunity to tune in deeply to our lived experience. With each task, may we do so with great intention and compassion.
In today’s class, we build on the twist sequences from Tuesday, continue strengthening the legs with chair pose, and practice watching our thoughts during a guided meditation. But we start in a slow, nurturing child pose sequence. Hopefully, this class will leave you feeling loose, limber, and ready to fully experience the day!
You are okay. The thoughts you have and the emotions you have are okay. We CAN choose what to hold on to and what to let go of. Let’s have compassion for ourselves and others – today’s class will help us get there. Along with a sun sal b flow and plenty of twists to squeeze out any leftovers from the holiday weekend – physically and metaphorically :).
By popular demand, today’s class builds on Tuesday’s energizing core class with additional variations and longer holds. We also use the block to get deeper insight into the inner workings of our abs and do some stretches to work out any sore muscles that we might have from Tuesday. And, we have a special cricket guest!
Feeling sluggish? This class will energize you from the inside out focusing on breath work and core poses to strengthen your abdominal muscles, aid in slow digestion, and leave you feeling ready for whatever your day may bring next!
Props that you may want, but not required: Blocks, meditation cushion.
A continuation of Tuesday’s class – we start slowly warming up the arms, shoulders, and hips and then move into a Sun Sal B flow with twists. A feel-good flow for a balmy Thursday!
